As this is the first blog of what I hope will be an infinite series, from diverse bloggers; I thought it appropriate to introduce myself. I am Herukhuti Sharif, known only as Anthony S. Gay by those associated with the Amerikkkan Empire and dominant culture. I am an ultra-humanist, a self determinationist/collective autarkist and a maroonist, ideologically and philosophically. I am an author, writer, mentor, teacher, historian, and anthropologist; a son, father and grandfather. A human being! I am also a victim of genocide, tortured on a daily basis, nutritionally deprived, socially dead and wondering why no one gives a damn. Tens of thousands of beautiful, resilient, capable human beings languish and die in Amerikkka's concentration camps, amd the world doesn't seem to notice or care; if we were animals. society would be in an uproar. But that also reflects the hypocrisy and opportunism of a certain "breed" of person that picks and chooses when and where they'll accept cruelty and who (what species) they'll protect from injustice.
My motivation for participating in this dialogue is so that we ALL recognize and the pro-actively engage in our roles as mutual stakeholders in our struggles for independence, agency and meaningful lives. My Intent is not to merely complain about our circumstances as prisoners, or to glean some temporary satisfaction from "being heard." That's a very myopic perception of what's going on here. No, what this is about is: one community WAKING UP; acknowledging and accepting the clear vision of what's going on; and deciding to no longer be the objects and victims of history. Seeing the biggest picture possible is key here. whereby, we, as the underdeveloped oppressed class, initiate a "decolonization process" that evolves into full scale counter-cultural lifestyles and modes of resistance and defection from systems designed to exploit us.
I've said it before that captives cannot view ourselves as. and shouldn't be viewed as, "charity cases" or "victims" that outside "activists" need to advocate for and support. (Please read my proposal for a prisoner/community alliance) Unemployment and employment are products of colonialism and equate to oppression; they effect us captives too. The torture and dehumanization captives experience effects you, especially when we return to you broken and worse that when we left you. We are victimized by a rogue judicial machine of prosecutors, judges, sheriffs, parole officers, wardens and corrections officers on a moment by moment basis... and it effects the whole CLASS of underdeveloped oppressed peoples. So, in my analysis, we must respond, pro-actively, from that premise in a way that tears down the illusory walls that divide the two halves of our community: non-incarcerated prisoners and incarcerated prisoners - or - "free world" captives and imprisoned captives.
We all have the same interests to fight for, protect and pursue; different skill sets and talents and capacities to contribute. So please don't look at prison abolition work as helping people who are different from you or experiencing something somehow removed from your experiences. This fight against the judicial machine (prisons being but one component) is Ground Zero for the most relevant and pronounced stage in White Supremacy's and Colonialism/Capitalism's wars against the oppressed and nature. This is the "Justice Struggle" of the century and it won't just phase itself out. It will only intensify. and go down in history as the most sophisticated and heinous formula for cultural genocide and political neutralization. Once we begin to move as a single organism, utilizing systems, you'll see how occupying prisons and public spaces; donating books or college courses to captives; and forming cooperative business ventures with prisoners will all actually result in positive changes out there. We'll see our very lives improve when we don't just vote and wait for others to do for us what we should do for ourselves. As long as our oppressors know their "divide and conquer" strategies still work against us, they have nothing to fear. When they know you've abandoned us and trust they have the best of intentions to serve and protect. then they've got us right where they want us. And things will never improve for any of us, collectively. We, who are here in Arizona, have added, unique, sets of historical circumstances to deal with, that still haunt today's socio-political and economic realities. The capitalist bourgeois Elite have driven what seems like a permanent wedge between the various sectors of the underdeveloped communities. There's not a sizable, active, effective anti-imperialist movement here. Yet! I aim to be an active witness and contributor towards reversing this status quo. I take this platform and opportunity as a great responsibility to be honest and real; and to open myself up to your ideas. suggestions and partnerships. I welcome your criticism and feedback, and sincerely believe we will be doing some amazing, never before thought possible things in there near future. Please engage in this state-wide conversation with us about how we can hold the judicial machine accountable as well as show how it is obsolete and unnecessary.
Be well. In struggle,

Questions for the People:
Is there anyone who'd be interested in developing youth organization (so called "gang") mediation and re-direction programs with me?
Will anyone out there assist me in creating more self improvement and transformation curricula? Any teachers, parents, mentors coaches out there ready to join forces?
What about urban farmers? I have some ideas on independent food production and distribution programs.
